To the person I don't know
So, I got an email from someone who stumbled upon my blog while searching for banana nut bread recipes. I don't ask questions, fate is fate. Anyway she was complaining that I don't give synopsis's for the movies I rant about. No, I don't. I guess I need to explain my reasoning. Amoung the obvious reason of not spoiling things for the reader, I've been trying to get my dad to go to a movie for 25 years. No matter how great a film is, he's still never been in a movie theater with me. What sucks the most is that I can't even tell the man why the film is so great and would change his life foreever. My pop will interrupt me, calling 'mute' the second I go beyond the title. He deems a movie ruined if I tell him what genre it fits into. So, I've had to learn how to describe the awesomeness of films without saying anything about the story line. Additionally, I know few people with the talent and grace to talk about movies without ruining the plot for all within earshot. I admit that I most definitely have the gift, but I would hate to go too far, even once. So, msfx1982, I hope you found your receipe and now you know why I don't give up too much info regarding the films I blab about. You're welcome to comment about the movies, just try not to be the spoiler amoungst the group.

this made me laugh out loud. I hope your blog screams "I'm a mormon woman looking to share craft ideas and trusty recipes!" to whatever search engine she used. I wonder what told her you wouldn't have a banana nut bread recipe? perhaps the goodfellas clip? or the abundance of horror clips? ahhhh, I love the internet.
ReplyDeletealso, I love spoiling movies for people. wait til I tell you what happens in 'the empire strikes back.' ...you're gonna flip out.
